New small business resource library announced, topics inc. strategy, planning, marketing, etc.

Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Cogent Consulting Group has created a Small Business Resource Library,  http://thecogentcoach.com/Articles/Articles.html to provide timely and pertinent information on strategy, marketing, planning, finance, setting goals and other critical topics meaningful to small business owners and executives.  Our Small Business Resource Library collects and synthesizes information and presents it in one convenient location.

The Small Business Resource Library features articles and essays on topics derived from our extensive small business coaching and small business consulting background and is focused upon key issues and topics that are frequently covered from the perspective of large organizations and leave small businesses to distill the essence for themselves.

Our focus is on enabling small business owners and executives to achieve quick results.  Too often, business writing is academic rather than practical.   While that may be appropriate for larger businesses with substantial resources and time, small businesses need to be nimble and able to apply best practices quickly to stay competitive and sustain growth.  Our content is oriented to deliver quick results that set the stage for cost-effective results accomplished in a timely manner.

The series of articles and essays found in our Small Business Resource Library are an ideal complement to our recently released small business strategy handbook, Cogent Strategy Handbook.  Many areas of the handbook are further elaborated upon by content in the resource library.  To delve more deeply into topics, we have a complimentary breakthrough strategy session that focuses upon problem areas and immediate steps that will help a business move forward.

Our topics are selected based upon our experience working with small businesses and are meant to address areas which we find ourselves working with in most cases.  We solicit input for topics on our blog, http://thecogentcoach.com/wordpress/ and address the most frequently requested topics.

Current topic areas include strategy, marketing, performance measurement, building an organization, analysis, etc.  For instance, in our strategy section we address the meaning and purpose of strategy as an introduction to the section.  Strategy is one of those topics that everybody understands, but no two people can define in the same manner.  This is a problem when trying to create a strategic plan, analyze results, build an organization, etc.  After we set a common definition and examine how strategy should work in a small business, we provide a number of articles on analysis tools.  These tools and techniques are often mentioned, but rarely explained in a manner meaningful to a small business owner.  We show how to use a number of tools, when to use the tools, and what to expect and not expect from the outcomes of the analysis.

Marketing is another topic that we cover and it is also the most frequently requested topic from our clients and readers of our blog and newsletter.  We blend marketing into many of our topics as they are typically intrinsically linked.  We also walk through marketing tools and techniques as well as how to accomplish a market analysis.

Our next addition to the library will be a series of instructional videos on many of the subject areas where we can build on the existing knowledge base and add important elements and case studies that provide examples.
