Dubbed the Music Theory Workshop, the site will act as a more extensive resource for students to hone their music theory chops. While the Music Learning Workshop site currently offers more extensive courses, the sister site will offer concentrated eBook lessons that are intended to individualize the curriculum for students wanting to delve deeper in specific theory elements. Site visitors will also find reviews and recommendations on supplementary music course materials, with the ability to sign up for a newsletter to stay up to date with new reviews.
Chidester founded the Music Learning Workshop in May 2008 as a resource for music theory enthusiasts young and old alike. His aim in designing the site was to help students build from the basics of rhythm, notes, keys, scales, intervals, chords and techniques into advanced music theory. The MLW remains of the few music theory resources using a workshop methodology.
