Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- It’s the time of year for giving and, as the holidays approach, The Crucible is giving their hardworking and thoughtful community an opportunity to give a gift and receive one as well. The one-of-a-kind 56,000 square-foot industrial arts education facility is now offering a Gift and Get promotion, so when people give the gift of Crucible magic, they get a little in return. The Crucible also recently updated its membership program with more benefits and cool Crucible swag.

The Crucible offers an incredible variety of industrial arts classes including blacksmithing, ceramics, fire performance, glass blowing, jewelry, kinetics and electronics, metal fabrication, stoneworking, wood carving, and more. Now through December 29, 2011, anyone who purchases a Crucible Gift Certificate, class, or membership as a gift gets a voucher of $30 off a class valued at $100 or more for themselves.

Vouchers are made out to the purchaser only, and are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. This promotion excludes Family Fun and Fun Together Classes. Gift Certificates can only be purchased in person or by phone, and are available in any denomination above $50. Gift Certificates can be used for Crucible classes, memberships, and events like The Crucible’s exclusive World Premiere Fire Opera, MACHINE.

“We all have enough ‘stuff’ and during the holidays we often struggle with ideas of what to give to others. It’s nice to avoid adding to the piles, and instead give an experience. Plus, you get the joy of giving a different type of gift. Experiences at The Crucible are unlike any other, and are ones people will talk about,” says Jonaya Leek, Crucible Programs Associate.

To entice folks to keep their Crucible membership and to inspire new members, The Crucible has added new levels and hot Crucible swag. Plus, the membership is tax-deductible, which is perfect this time of year, when folks start looking to supporting community programs for an end-of-year tax deduction.

The Crucible’s new membership program, which launched on October 1st, includes a new student level at $50 a year. Students must present a valid student I.D. when signing up. The Crucible also added a “Titan” $2,500 level for top tier supporters.

All Crucible members get early registration on classes, discounts on tuition and tickets, complimentary access to Fireside Lounge events, and the ability to register for The Crucible’s CREATE Program. New benefits offered at different levels include limited edition Crucible note cards, complimentary tickets to events, discounts on the CREATE Program, a limited edition bronze belt buckle, complimentary weekend taster class for two and a private tour and lunch with The Crucible’s Executive Director.

“When you gift a membership, you are not just giving year-round discounts on cool classes and spectacular events; you are also donating to a world-class industrial arts organization.” Says Ray Boyle, Crucible Development Coordinator, “These benefits and Gift and Get promotion not only help our community, but also help sustain our organization.”

As a nonprofit organization, The Crucible relies on the support of the Bay Area community to fuel its fires. Membership dues directly support Crucible arts education programs, allowing the organization to provide free programs for West Oakland youth, develop innovative performances with artists from throughout the Bay Area, and continue to offer world-class industrial arts education.
