Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Publishers Clearing House, the leader in multi-channel direct marketing, is also a leader in funding charitable causes.  Every year, more than 40% of the company’s profits go directly to benefit charitable causes. This holiday season, PCH is asking its Facebook fans to take charge of the decision-making process for a big year-end contribution.  Today the company announced the launch of a new Facebook-based charitable giving program called ‘The Give Back’. This event will allow PCH Fans to vote for charities. At the end of the voting period, the charity with the most votes will receive a $25,000 donation. Second and third place charities will receive $2,500 each. To further inspire participation, PCH will award one lucky Facebook Fan a $5,000 prize.

“We have the most engaged and energized fans on Facebook. From answering questions about what they would do with $1 Million to commenting on our latest Prize Patrol giveaway, our fans love to express their opinions and share their preferences,” said Josh Glantz, vice president and general manager of PCH Online. “Our roots run deep, through the philanthropy of our founders, in charitable support and we wanted to find a way to involve our loyal fans in the decision on which charity to receive a donation this holiday season. This program puts our fans in control of an impactful decision and will also be a lot of fun for everyone who gets involved.”

The Give Back event consists of a two stage voting process by fans of the Publishers Clearing House Fan page. In the first stage, fans will vote on ten different causes, including Fight Disease, Save the Environment, Protect the Animals, Help the Homeless, Develop Communities, Improve Education, Enrich the Arts, Promote Sports, Provide Disaster Relief and Support the Troops.  This stage will last approximately two weeks.  The three causes with the most votes will move on to the next rounds.

The second round of voting is approximately four weeks long and will feature one charity from each of the top three causes selected by the PCH Fans. At the end of the second round, the charity with the most votes will receive a cash donation of $25,000. The two runners up will also be given a donation of $2,500. Throughout the process, PCH will also be offering a $5,000 sweepstakes to everyone that becomes a fan and participates in the event. Fans can log on and enter once a day by voting for their favorite charity on the following PCH fan page - https://www.facebook.com/pch?sk=app_250316015003776.
