Follow on Google News | New and improved features released for Learnanywhere Primary VLEWebanywhere is proud to announce the addition of new and improved features to its popular Learnanywhere VLE, a scalable and cost-effective learning platform designed specifically for primary schools.
By: Webanywhere The developments have been made following constructive and useful feedback from primary schools that currently use the system. Simplified layout One of the key innovations is a new Key Stage 1 theme, which simplifies the layout and menus to make them even more accessible for younger learners. As children become more confident in using the VLE, they can progress to using the more sophisticated, but still very child-friendly, KS2 layout. Paintanywhere The fun and interactive painting and drawing tool Paintanywhere has also been added, enabling young users to create, save and share artwork from their Learnanywhere account. Webanywhere MD Sean Gilligan commented: “We value all the feedback we get from schools that are using our VLEs day-in, day-out as it really helps us to keep building on the products to make them the best they can be. We’re delighted with these new innovations and the response from schools has already been excellent.” Lead Developer Ashley Ryalls added: “Over the coming months we’re also planning to include a built-in and simplified word-processor, plus numerous further improvements. We have now employed a former primary school teacher, who is helping us to ensure that Learnanywhere meets the needs of both pupils and teachers." The new features build on a VLE that primary school teachers already use and love because it enables them to quickly and easily carry out key tasks such as: • Teaching and lesson planning • Building an online collection of teaching resources • Planning and executing lessons through the VLE • Using multimedia to enhance teaching • Co-ordinating lessons, follow-up activities and homework • Creating quizzes and games • Viewing attendance, attainment and behaviour data • Making content available to teachers, students and parents at home and in school For more information, go to http://www.learnanywhere.co.uk/ Notes for editors For more information please contact Av Srivastava on 0800 862 0131 or email av.s@webanywhere.co.uk End
