A further step forward in the marketing of online golf in Spain

An agreement with the leading online booking system will allow the clients of Atalaya Golf (Estepona, Málaga) to book their green fees completely online via Smartphone or Blackberry.

Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Atalaya Golf & Country Club has taken the lead among the Spanish golf clubs that have chosen the Internet as a channel of communication and sales by offering their clients the possibility to book their tee times by mobile phone. Signing an agreement with the leading provider of online reservation systems at international level enables them to offer the booking process for green fees completely online via any Smartphone or Blackberry.

This mobile sales platform can be accessed by the proper website of the club, by its Facebook profile, or by capturing the QR codes, similar to bar codes that can be seen in department stores and supermarkets. These codes have already been used for some time in other sectors such as flight bookings, e.g. by companies like Vueling or Lufthansa, printed on their boarding cards. From now onwards it won’t be uncommon to see these QR codes displayed on printed ads of the golf courses or at any other part of the club installations like dressing rooms or restaurants. The idea is to facilitate users the access to club information, since this technology enables anybody with a Smartphone to receive instantly additional information, such as promotions, information of the golf club etc., just by approaching the phone to this code.

If you’d like to test the system, just try with the code included in this article, on the website of the golf course http://www.atalaya-golf.com, or the Internet address https://mobile.golfhub.com/ATA/
