devolo Launches First dLAN 500 Adapter With Triple the Networking Performance

Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Powerline networking specialist devolo is expanding its dLAN 500 portfolio with the dLAN 500 AVtriple+. The new adapter has three Gigabit ethernet ports enabling up to three computers or network-compatible devices to be directly connected with speeds of up to 500 Mbps.

Through the use of Gigabit technology, the dLAN 500 AVtriple+ ensures the connected devices can use the full transmission capacity and utilise the high bandwidth of the dLAN 500 range, enabling multiple separate 3D HD streams to transmit simultaneously.

This enables the compact dLAN 500 AVtriple+ to provide an Internet connection for all network-compatible electronics including Smart TVs, IPTV set-top boxes, Blu-ray players and game consoles throughout the home. The new adapter can also be used in an IT environment as well as for connecting networked devices. For example, an integrated Gigabit switch with three network ports can connect a computer, network printer and NAS hard drive, as well as the Internet in an office.

Like the dLAN 500 AVplus, the dLAN 500 AVtriple+ also has an integrated electrical socket, ensuring all the power outlets in a room remain usable. The built-in mains filter optimises data transmission in the dLAN and for optimal security against unauthorised access, the dLAN 500 AVtriple+ possesses 128 bit AES encryption.
In addition to high performance and security, the adapter is also energy efficient. The power requirements are further reduced by over 90 percent in standby mode, with the consumption at under 0.5 watts.

With the dLAN 500, devolo has maintained its "Plug and Go" philosophy. There is no complicated configuration when setting up a dLAN 500 AVtriple+ adapter, it is simply plugged into a power outlet and connected with a network-compatible device or a DSL router. A quick and secure connection is then established through the encryption button.

The dLAN 500 AVtriple+ starter kit is retailing at £139.99 inc VAT. The standalone version is also available at a retail price of £79.99. Both products include the devolo 3-year warranty.
