Toi Toi Wines Win Gold at International Wine and Spirit Competition 2011

New Zealand’s Toi Toi Wines is thrilled to announce that the Toi Toi Riesling 2010 was awarded Gold 'Best in Class' at the recent UK-based International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) – Southern Hemisphere results.

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 19, 2011 - New Zealand’s Toi Toi Wines is thrilled to announce that the Toi Toi Riesling 2010 was awarded Gold 'Best in Class' at the recent UK-based International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) – Southern Hemisphere results.

This was one of only 15 Gold ‘Best in Class’ accolades awarded to a riesling worldwide, and one of only three awarded to a wine from New Zealand.

The Toi Toi 2010 Riesling also received a Gold Medal at the 2011 New Zealand International Wine Show, as well as ‘Highly Commended Wine’ in the Aromatic Wines category at the Sydney International Wine Show 2011.

The Toi Toi Central Otago Reserve Pinot Noir 2010 was also awarded Bronze in the 2011 IWSC competition.

Toi Toi wines are sold in New Zealand, Australia, North America, Hawaii, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Ireland. A full list of distributors/ stockists is available on the Toi Toi website.

The International Wine and Spirit Competition:

Considered by many to be one of the highest honours in the beverage industry, the IWSC attracts entries from over 80 countries worldwide. The two stage judging process takes place at the competition’s headquarters in Surrey, UK over a six month period, consisting of blind tasting and detailed technical analysis. Editors note: Toi Toi wines was established by New Zealanders Kevin Joyce and Andrew Bonner in 2006 to craft great quality wines which reflect New Zealand’s terroir at popular prices. The pair have called on their experience in the industry to create Toi Toi: Andrew has been part of the industry for more than 20 years including as Managing Director of Foster’s Group Pacific; Kevin, a chartered accountant, was acting CEO/Commercial Manager for Tohu Wines before establishing Toi Toi. There was only one Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from the inaugural vintage but since then the Toi Toi range has grown to include; sparkling wine, prosecco, unoaked chardonnay, riesling, pinot gris, pinot noir, cabernet sauvignon and a late harvest riesling dessert wine. Mostly recently they have added organic wines to their portfolio.
