Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Local Communities benefit from Solar Energy

The TVA Generation partners program, provides the opportunity for manufactures, agriculture producers, business and homeowners, in the TVA region to stabilize energy cost, while helping create local jobs.

The (GPP) offers the opportunity to utilize sustainable renewable energy while driving green jobs and community investment throughout the Tennessee Valley.  The (GPP) together with the regulatory changes and policies that will flow from it, provide a range of measures intended to foster a culture of conservation and encourage the development of renewable energy projects.

The proposed program, administered by the Tennessee Valley Authority (a government agency) guarantees specific prices for energy generated from renewable sources and will help promote jobs and education in the region. Under the terms of the program, The Tennessee Valley Authority (Standard & Poor’s AA+) will purchase all the renewable energy generated from all qualifying rooftop and ground mount solar systems under a 10 - year contract.

By utilizing the TVA Generation Partners program, SunOne Energy, a Chattanooga, Tennessee based solar integrator will work within local communities to develop 50,000 Watt Community solar farms throughout the TVA region.

Community based solar farms allow members to be partners in the project,  offering solid returns while enhancing education by providing hands on learning labs for the local community. Members can buy individual solar modules (units) in a particular farm and receive a portion of the income and tax benefit generated by the array. SunOne Energy, along with its local consultants and education partner Chattanooga State Technical Institute will design, develop maintain and monitor the solar array to provide the member solid returns by maximizing the outputs, and creating opportunities through education.

A typical turnkey 50 Kw solar project will contain 200 modules (units) each will represent proportionate share of ownership and therefore will entitle the member to a % of net cash flows and pass through of the tax benefits. One module or unit will be made available for $1,000; you can purchase one or all of the units for each project; the projected cash and tax benefits of 10 to 12 % annual return will pass thru to the module holder. Benefits to the community include sustainability, education, fixed price renewable energy, leading edge job opportunities, and reduced infrastructure cost for local utilities.

SunOne Energy is currently seeking south facing rooftops and clear pasture land to develop our solar PV arrays. Community based or privately owned solar arrays can be situated in parks, on school rooftops or on private owned land.Landowners, businesses or potential members in one of our community solar farms interested learning how you can make a difference in the future of renewable energy should call Timothy F Anderson (423 504 8498) of SunOne Energy, Chattanooga, Tennessee for additional details.
