Music Industry Executives have labeled him the quadruple threat and the walking model for what the new music business executive calls for. With an amazing set of abilities in the arenas of recording artist, songwriter, videographer, and administration, Jonathan "Jonny T" Taylor has established a pattern of success in the business.
Jonny T has an official discography that dates back to 2006. He has established an online niche fan base within the plus-sized community known as B.B.W.'s, an acronym for Big Beautiful Women. He was a member of the seminal chubby-chaser rap group Plumpah Humpah All Stars. he led the group to a record deal with UrbanDigital Records in 2006 where they joined then-label mates Master P & Romeo. The label released The Warm Up EP and their full-length album The Workout released in 2008. With Jonny T in control of marketing & promotions of the project, the group garnered the distinction of having been the first music video to air on MTV with a "plus-sized positive" focus on the beauty of women of size. The group disbanded and in the summer of the same year, UrbanDigital released a solo Jonny T album entitled The Human Experience. The release opened Jonny T to an entirely different market overseas in Japan and Europe. The release found moderate international success and was minimally promoted domestically.
In 2009, he found an opportunity to begin a path on the executive side of the business. he has shot a number of music videos for new acts across most of the major labels. In summer 2011, his single Nachos was released by Street scholar Music Group/Bungalo Records/Universal Music Group Distribution. Production for a new music video for the single are on the way, and it too, will also feature plus-sized women versus the standard video vixen. The video will be placed on a platform for national release. Jonny T and business partner Mfanisi Norman lead their new label Soul Swagger entertainment and have arrangements to distribute the same avenue of the Nachos release. Their first acts are Schyler O'Neal and Zombie Squad.
If those achievements weren't enough, he now reserves options to release material via Def Jam Digital Distribution. "The value associated with the ability to brand against the leader of urban music releases is incredible. their 25 year history and track record speaks for itself. It is a tremendous opportunity and I am beyond excited about having the ability to release with their brand. My vision won't be compromised, I'll have the ability to properly promote my niche, expand and merge exisiting and new fan bases as well as release new acts." Expect the first release during the 1st Quarter of 2010!
