Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- New York— NYC Council Member James F. Gennaro Discusses DEC's Release Of Draft Regulations for High-Volume Hydraulic Fracturing on The Organic View Radio Show (www.theorganicview.com) with host, June Stoyer, on October 18, 2011 at 4p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The exclusive interview will discuss his expertise as a Geologist and Environmental expert in regards to the process of fracking. For  the last three years, Councilman James Gennaro and other elected officials and environmental advocates have to called upon New Yorkers to prevent natural gas drilling in any part of New York City’s million-acre upstate drinking water supply that provides drinking water for more than nine million New Yorkers. This area, which extends throughout much of the Appalachian Basin is called The Marcellus Shale. This area would appear to offer the perfect resource to produce more gas and according to the gas companies, create new jobs. The shale contains largely untapped natural gas reserves and has now become the prime focus for energy development as the natural gas industry pumps millions of dollars to convince the public that the current methods of extraction are not only perfectly safe but will create hundreds of jobs.

Callers are welcome to join the conversation during the show by calling (917) 932-1068. The live, Internet talk-radio show will stream from the host page at www.blogtalkradio.com/theorganicview.

“While it appears to be a great solution for the gas companies to tap into the resources available in the Northeast, it is not prudent to move forward with the current fracking process until there is zero risk of environmental contamination, especially as it pertains to our water and air,” said June Stoyer, Executive Producer of the show.
