Androscoggin Bank Sponsors Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 19, 2011 - LEWISTON, Maine – Androscoggin Bank announced that the Bank will be a leading sponsor of the ninth annual L.L. Bean Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival on October 29 in Freeport, ME. All proceeds from the event will benefit Camp Sunshine, a year-round retreat in Casco, ME, which provides respite, support, joy, and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. This event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. at the iconic L.L. Bean store in downtown Freeport featuring a costume parade, corporate carving challenge, whoopie pie eating contest, pumpkins-on-wheels derby, and a brilliant display of 6,000 lit jack-o-lanterns. The Bank will feature a sponsored vehicle in the costume parade, in addition to sponsoring an employee team for the corporate carving challenge.

This is Androscoggin Bank’s third year of sponsoring the Camp Sunshine Pumpkin Festival, a preferred charity for the Bank. For the 2011 event, the Bank’s $10,000 donation will help Camp Sunshine achieve its goal of raising $60,000 during the event. To support Camp Sunshine’s efforts, all are encouraged to purchase a $1 paper pumpkin or $5 paper pumpkin patch for display in any of the Bank’s 13 full-service branches across the State of Maine during the month of October.
