“The new group of volunteer officers is already doing a fantastic job planning our upcoming event,” said Dick Waitneight, chairman of the board of the Dana Point Concours. “Thirty years is an incredible milestone and we’re confident that they will make this Concours one of the best automotive events of the season. Our goal is to assemble the finest collection of classic, high performance automobiles and vintage motorcycles in Southern California, as well as a gathering of historically significant people who were part of their amazing stories.”

As the 2010-2011 director of advertising for the Dana Point Concours, Spellens is returning to the board for a second term, this year as president. His mission is to expand opportunities for the organization and create a team atmosphere among volunteers and board members. Currently the customer liaison at Mercedes-Benz of Laguna Niguel, Spellens also brings invaluable automotive experience to the position.
Through his past experience as vice president of the Bob Hope Hollywood USO, Spellens gained extensive knowledge of non-profits that will assist with his current role. While working with the USO, Spellens facilitated fundraising in support of the organization’
