Area runners can get on their mark for the Hope Music Festival 5K, which is set for Oct. 29 at Jeffersonville RiverStage, 100 W. Riverside Drive. The run was initially planned for Sept. 24, but had to be postponed. The event was rescheduled in part due to the Sherman Minton Bridge closure and the American Heart Association Heart Walk being moved to Jeffersonville,
“We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and in trying to be good stewards to the Heart Walk and our event we felt that this was a positive and proactive plan of action,” Festival spokesperson, Jeff Minton said. ”We want to thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you all on the 29th."
The course begins at RiverStage and winds along the Ohio River near the Falls of the Ohio into the neighborhood and back again. Registration is $20. Money raised benefits Clean Socks Hope and Edge Outreach area charitable organizations. Registration is available at Fleet Feet Sports, 1500 Bardstown Road, Louisville from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. through Oct. 28. Prospective runners can also register at RiverStage before the 5K for $25.
