In addition to nightly screenings commencing at 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM on the first evening following the Opening Reception, there will be a SILENT AUCTION in the lobby of the Kay Meek Centre . Items available in this auction include restaurant gift certificates, a number of beautiful gift baskets, framed water colour paintings, a framed Daniel Izzard print; a leather jacket; Paddington Boots, ( in your size)a $265 gift certificate for cleaning and others too numerous to mention. New items are coming in every day. The bidding will end at 10 p.m. Saturday, November 5th 2011.
In the lobby of the Kay Meek Centre you will also find a Student ART EXHIBITION –The art will be environmentally themed and is being curated by local artist and filmmaker Ron den Daas, who has exhibited his own paintings internationally.
To ensure that each visitor is dazzled by the gifts of Mother Nature on display at this Film festival, Mr. den Daas has organized for a film of the salmon’s breathtaking Life’s Journey to be highly visible on the walls of the lobby. People are welcome to come to the lobby and enjoy all that is on display there, even if they are not coming for the evening’s screenings.
