The Latest Concept in Pharmacovigilance Safety Management

The launch will take place in front of many industry players at the London Pharmacovigilance Global Summit  ‘Developing Successful Risk Management Strategies to Increase Drug Safety’ organised by Appel Consulting. MedGenesis have chosen to launch the latest solution to the pharmacvoigilance industry at this event as it is aimed at the international sector of the medical industry. At this event Dr Stephen Bentley, Director of MedGenesis, will be discussing current difficulties facing the pharmacovigilance sector in his presentation on the 7th December at this event.
The importance of using a modern, flexible and user friendly pharmacovigilance safety database is an essential tool within the industry. Safety databases should allow organisations to gather relevant data quickly and efficiently in a format that is useful for both management and the relevant authorities. Information must be supplied to regulatory authorities via statuary electronic reporting and the database must support this, be validated and acceptable to those regulatory authorities. The UK regulatory body, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) have noted there are a number of Contract Research Organisations (CROs) having inspection findings such as ‘overall system failure’. They comment ‘An overall system failure can sometimes mean that there is no pharmacovigilance system in place, but more commonly it relates to multiple serious deficiencies leading to an inadequate pharmacovigilance system.’ MedGenesis is harnessing the latest technologies such as utilising social media and creating a branded web presence in order to fully engage with the industry, that many pharmaceutical companies are currently shying away from.
