Try It Local Success in Oceanside
Deal service brings big savings to consumers, supports area businesses and keeps more proceeds in the local economy

Oceanside, CA (DATE) –The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce introduced Try It Local in August, and it has taken off with consumers and businesses alike.  “The chamber and participating businesses have been thrilled with the positive response to the program,” said David Nydegger, Chamber CEO.  “Consumers have been able to save hundreds of dollars because of this program.”  

Try It Local is an online discount program which partners with the chamber to highlight local retailers, restaurants and more. However, Nydegger points out that any similarity to other online deal programs ends there: “Many other online discount programs take half - or more - of the proceeds out of our economy. Try It Local keeps nearly 80% of the proceeds here in the local area.”

There have been several businesses that have had success through this program.  A few that were recently featured include:  The Breakfast Club Diner, Emerald Isle Golf Course, Tony Pepperoni, Classic Chariots, and many others.  Hooligans Sports Bar owner, Tim Bush, said, “Try It Local was a great experience!  It was very targeted to my area so I'm reaching people IN my area.” Last week’s featured business owner continued, “Try It Local made it so much easier to come up with an ad and to use with great results.  I can't wait to use it again!”

Here’s how Try It Local works:  
•   A local business offers a product or service at a minimum of 40 percent off. Deals include discounts at local retailers, restaurants, spas/salons, dry cleaners, attractions, special events, and is growing in variety every week.
•   Each deal is released to thousands of area consumers by email, online at www.TryItLocal.com/Oceanside and the Chamber’s Facebook page on Wednesday of every week, running through Thursday midnight.
•   Buyers click to purchase the offer, print the voucher and redeem it.
