Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Apprentice Courses for "Green Jobs" Begin at IMTI Oct. 27 in Waterbury, CT

IMTI, the Industrial Management & Training Institute in Waterbury, Connecticut, will begin training courses for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technicians Thursday, October 27. This new "green jobs" training is an introduction to PV Design & Installation.

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 17, 2011 - Training courses for careers as Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technicians will begin Thursday, October 27 at IMTI-Industrial Management & Training Institute in Waterbury, CT (www.IMTIUSA.COM). This newly-introduced 40-hour “green jobs” apprentice training program is an Introduction to Photovoltaic Design and Installation. Classes will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at IMTI located at 233 Mill Street in Waterbury on Oct. 27, 28, 29, Nov. 3 and 4. Students must complete the intensive five (5) class program to become eligible to apply for the NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) entry level exam to become certified technicians.

Instruction in the 40 hour Introduction to PV Design and Installation course will include classroom and hands-on training at IMTI, where each student will be required to complete specific tasks related to Solar PV Installation. Course tuition is $750 plus the cost to purchase the required textbook, “Photovoltaic Systems” is $110 plus tax. The course will also be offered Dec. 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9, 2011 at IMTI.

“Our new solar training programs,” stated Marcel Veronneau, IMTI CEO, “allow more technicians to obtain jobs in the cutting-edge solar arena.  IMTI’s training helps fill new job opportunities for working technicians as well as U.S. Veterans. Unemployed individuals may qualify for funding through the Department of Labor to offset the cost of tuition and should contact IMTI for more information.

This new 40-hour Introduction to Photovoltaic Design and Installation course is approved by NABCEP, the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, and was introduced at IMTI in July 2011.

Founded by Marcel Veronneau in Waterbury in 1986, IMTI successfully trains electricians, plumbers, electronic systems and HVAC technicians in current technologies and job skills. All IMTI programs are career-oriented with classroom curriculums that include education as well as hands-on industry skills training. IMTI is approved by The State of Connecticut, The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), and Licensed by the State of New York, and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. IMTI is open seven days each week, and offers day, evening and weekend in-classroom courses, including Continuing Education courses for licensed plumbers and electricians.
