Oct. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- FeedNetback (http://www.feednetback.eu) has announced its final demonstrator Workshop for January next year, aiming at showcasing methodologies and tools to address long-standing problems in networked control systems. The workshop marks the completion of the three year programme and is to be hosted by Videotec S.p.A. (http://www.videotec.com) at Via Friuli 6, I-36015 in Schio (region of Veneto, northern Italy).
The Workshop will focus on the practical issues in implementing feedback over communication networks. All demonstrators are inspired by the project’s two test cases:
i)   camera-based surveillance systems with large number of mostly static nodes, high bandwidth but also high communication requirements and
ii)   autonomous multi-vehicle exploration, with relatively few, highly mobile nodes communicating over low bandwidth and unreliable links.
The Workshop will be kicked off at 9am and will feature four demonstrators as follows:
•   Demo 1: Motion capture of toy remote helicopter (45 min)
•   Demo 2: Tracking using Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras (30 min)
•   Demo 3: Multi-agent perimeter patrolling (30 min)
•   Demo 4: Underwater Vehicle System mission simulation tools (video based) (30 min)
The demonstrator sessions are open to the public, and will provide a terrific opportunity for system designers and researchers concerned with issues of implementing networked control systems to learn about co-design techniques for integration of communication, control, computation and energy management. FeedNetback consortium members will be available to share their knowledge and experiences from these developments. The event will be concluded with the external reviewers’ debriefing on site.
To facilitate access to the venue, a bus service will be available for delegates travelling from Padova. For additional information and to register your participation please email ig@feednetback.com
