Phil Mitsch for State Senate Earns Firefighters Endorsement

Oct. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Phil Mitsch for State Senate announces it has earned the endorsement of the New Jersey chapter of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), further propelling Mitsch’s Republican bid for the State Senate 6th District seat.   The candidate hopes to use his long-time real estate and business acumen to benefit all New Jersey residents suffering through a weak housing market and other financial woes.

The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey (PFANJ), the state entity, has 2,500 members, including about 450 in Camden County, a large portion of which comprises District 6  (Cherry Hill, Berlin, Collingswood, Haddonfield, Haddon Township, Hi-Nella, Gibbsboro, Merchantville, Oaklyn, Pennsauken, Somerdale, Stratford, Tavistock and Voorhees, and Maple Shade in Burlington County).

This is the second major endorsement for Mitsch from the public safety sector in the past two weeks; earlier this month the New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police, with over 17,000 members statewide, threw its support behind him.

“We felt that the democrats who’ve been in control for the last 20-plus years were doing no favors for firefighters,” said PFANJ President Dominic Marino. “Phil Mitsch has a fresh feel about him, he’s not beholden to any groups or individuals, and you can see that he wears his heart on his sleeve.”
