McGladrey Congratulates Ben Crane Winner of the 2011 McGladrey Classic

In 2006, just before he turned 30, Crane was the highest ranked American golfer under that age in the Official World Golf Rankings. In 2010, Crane carded a final-round 70 to win the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines by a single stroke, and in October 2010, he won the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic Malaysia, an event co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and Asian Tour. He won the 2011 McGladrey Classic by defeating Webb Simpson in a playoff. Crane is currently one of four golfers in the PGA exclusive boy band “Golf Boys,” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM2NocuEihw) along with Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson and Hunter Mahan. The 2011 McGladrey Classic included two new elements: a concert by country music artist Darius Rucker, which brought out 5,000 fans, and a golf clinic by World Golf Hall of Fame Member Nancy Lopez. The tournament’s annual Youth Day and Military Appreciation Day were once again event highlights. Proceeds from this year’s McGladrey Classic will benefit Special Olympics, the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia and other local charitable organizations.
