Oct. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Palm Beach Gardens, FL – The nonprofit ARISE Foundation is gearing up for a weeklong train-the-trainer workshop October 17th - 21st  at Seacoast National Bank, located at 3001 PGA Boulevard. The training will take place from 9:00 to 4:30 each day.  Juvenile Justice staff and those working with at-risk populations in a variety of settings will take part in the Master Life Skills training in order to become ARISE Certified Master Life Skills Trainers.

As ARISE Certified Master Life Skills Trainers, participants of this five-day training workshop will be able to take what they have learned and train others at their organization on how to conduct  innovative, guided group discussions and activities with troubled youth in their charge. This training gives participants all the tools necessary to implement the ARISE Life Skills Program at their respective organizations. For over two decades, ARISE life skills lessons have been used across the country with great results.

Allison Ayala of the Pinellas Marine Institute in St. Petersburg, FL has seen amazing results since she began using the ARISE curricula.

“I have really seen some positive changes in the learning experiences of the students from working together on discussions and materials,” Ayala said. “The ARISE materials are clear and useful. They always provide me with inspiration. The youth really work better when they are coming together as a community.”

ARISE Life Skills lessons are specifically created for learners with substantial reading and learning deficiencies in addition to serious behavioral issues. The Master Life Skills training will train others to steer youth in the right direction by providing new trainers with ARISE evidence-based curricula, that help disadvantaged youth grasp life’s unwritten rules. Among the 260 different life lessons ARISE has created are: anger, conflict management, parenting and job search skills.

Since ARISE was established, it has trained and certified  over 5,559 ARISE Life-Skills Group Facilitators who have taught over 5,830,857 documented hours (averaging 13,646 hours per month) of interactive ARISE Life Skills lessons for at-risk youth and teens across the United States and beyond. ARISE is also being used in Canada, Jamaica, England, Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, New Zealand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Bosnia, Kazakhstan, Kingdom of Bahrain, South Africa, Vietnam, Uganda, Nigeria and Haiti.
