A Bend in the River of Life - Novel Affirms the Ultimate Truth in the Flow of The River of Life

Oct. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Life goes on, no matter what. The novel tells us that the River of Life, comprising human life and the forces that act as the invisible hands of God, flows on inexorably, oblivious to the emotions that rend mankind asunder.

The story begins in India and spans five continents. Rana was born in a well-to-do family in British India in the thick of World War II. Before his second birthday, his parents go through a bitter separation. His mother returns to her parents, but Rana is told that she is dead. Consequently, he is raised by his grandmother. When Rana is 9, his mother returns, astounding him beyond comprehension.

Years pass and Rana meets his sweetheart while vacationing. He marries her and two children are born. But his wife dies during childbirth, causing Rana heartbreak. Notwithstanding the tragedy, he achieves success in business, is promoted and transferred overseas. Leaving the children with his family, he moves abroad and plunges into work. His desolate life gives rise to a few romantic relationships, but these all end in dissolution. He brings his children to live with him and they all live very happily. When his teenage daughter marries her high school sweetheart and moves away, her father is crestfallen. It seems all the women in his life leave him.

A Bend in the River of Life is a song of life, revealing the truth that throughout the many changes in our lives, hope and despair alternate, while The River of Life flows on relentlessly toward its tryst with Eternity, unmindful of human emotions, while life goes on.
