Follow on Google News | Why is Common Sense so Uncommon? Author shares collected motivational wisdom in new bookNew book offers alternative to pervasive negative thinking
“My book Common Sense is UnCommon is a simple, realistic tool for the reader to identify negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. I’m committed to improving the quality of how we think and hope that it lends itself to being reread and referenced many times throughout a reader’s lifetime,” says Balaban who is an adult educator, motivational speaker and trainer. Some of her wisdom collected includes: • Unless you realize your strengths, you don’t have any • Throw out the ‘should’ • Don’t allow your enemy to rent free space in your head • You become a failure when you start blaming others While the statements may seem simple, Balaban is always surprised at how many people ignore common sense which ends up causing them more frustration- “For many people, focusing on the negative is easier to hold onto, they thrive on it. It takes more work to calm down and focus on the positive. By giving people the opportunity to acquire new and different ways of thinking, feeling and believing with simple positive statements, a person can start to change their negative way of thinking into a positive one.” Anne Balaban is an adult educator, motivational speaker, and trainer.
