Winners Announced in British-American Business Awards

Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Winners in the 2nd Annual BABC International Business Awards were announced on October 5 to 200 attendees at a luncheon at the Westin Memorial City.

Companies of all sizes and sectors engaged in trade and investment between the UK and Texas were encouraged to enter the awards programme.  Judging was performed by members of the UK Trade and Investment team and the accounting firm of Prather Kalman, P.C.  

The winners were announced as follows:

Small to Mid-Sized Business – Enthought, Inc. (Austin, TX)

Large Corporate – Wood Mackenzie (Houston, TX)

Consul General’s Award for Corporate Social Responsibility – Mary Kay Corp. (Dallas, TX)

Judging for the Small to Mid-Sized Business and Large corporate categories was based on year over year revenue increase, year over year job growth and annual capital expenditure in the UK and Texas.  


“The BABC International Business Awards programme was started with the idea of bringing awareness to the importance of the economic relationship between the UK and Texas.  The UK is the largest Foreign Direct Investor in the Texas economy.  Trade between the two economies tops out at $8 billion.  UK companies provide 74,000 jobs to the Texas market,” said Becci Himes, Executive Director of the British-American Business Council Houston, “We are very proud as an organization to recognize the companies who are excelling in this important relationship.”
