However, it is often viewed as a stage of childhood that is normally overcome with age,” says CARD Specialized Outpatient Services Managing Supervisor Katharine Gutshall, MA, BCBA. “This free webinar will address children’s nutrition, consumption behavior and power struggles by providing parents with strategies on how to move toward a healthier diet and aid their picky eaters in receiving the nutrition needed for healthy child growth and development.” Research shows problems with food acceptance and picky eaters are commonly found in children on the autism spectrum. Picky eating, also known as selective or fussy eating, is defined as a restricted diet, where a child excludes a variety of foods. Parents will learn about what constitutes picky eating versus a pediatric feeding disorder as well as research and possible treatment interventions. Registration is required to attend the webinars.
