Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Imperica, the online publication covering new thinking and developments in the creative industries, has invited its readers to a Q&A on social media and online reputation.

Hosted Antony Mayfield, founder of digital strategy agency Brilliant Noise, the Q&A will run until the end of October, and is an ideal way for artists – and those in the wider sector, including galleries and support organisations – to learn more about how to manage their online reputation.

In the age of social media, knowing how to manage your reputation is vital. As social tools such as Twitter and Facebook have become a critical way for audiences to find and talk about their lives, it is critical to know how to develop an online reputation, how to manage it through thick and thin – and how to repair it if something goes wrong.

Prior to creating Brilliant Noise, Antony spent a decade in journalism and corporate communications including as a director at Bell Pottinger. He later founded the content and social media teams at Hearst Media's digital agency iCrossing.

Antony has also written a number of books and e-books. “What is Social Media?” was downloaded tens of thousands of times, and his latest book, “Me and My Web Shadow”, focuses on online reputation management and is published by Bloomsbury. He has also recently presented at the Fabrica gallery in Brighton, exploring the same topic.

For anyone in arts that are keen to understand how to manage their online reputation, all that they need to do is to put a question to Antony by visiting www.imperica.com and following the link. Questions will be gathered up and answered by Antony at the end of the month.

Antony said:
“I would like to thank Imperica for giving me the opportunity to directly take questions from people and organisations in the arts. Online reputation matters to everyone, and I look forward to providing clarity and guidance through Imperica's unique Q&A service.”

Paul Squires, Managing Director of Imperica's parent business Perini, said:
“Antony is one of the UK's most well-known thinkers and practitioners in social media. It's a pleasure for Antony to join us at Imperica, and we're looking forward to some great questions.”
