“The inland service is proving increasingly popular” said breakfast show host Bernard Forbes, “we are getting emails and phone calls from places we never thought we’d reach, and are sending out Coastline mugs to competition winners from all over Málaga province and beyond”. The station reports that 44% of online listeners are now from Spain, with the UK coming second at 34%, and Germany in third position.
Coastline can be heard “from the country to the coast” on 97.6 FM inland from Alozaina in the west to Alcaucin and beyond on the east of Málaga, plus along the Costa del Sol with listeners from Motril to Benalmadena.
Under new ownership since April 2010, the radio station’s priority has been investment in new equipment alongside increasing the “live and local” aspects of their programmes. With new digital radio production equipment and many new presenters, Coastline is going from strength to strength.
“People tell us they like the changes and that we help to keep them informed of what’s going on in and around Andalucia” says Bernard. Advertisers are happy too – without increasing their prices, Coastline FM now has a potential audience more than double what it was at the beginning of the year.
Founded in 1989, Coastline FM, English radio station, has a daily mix of live programmes which provides the newest releases, great classic tracks, with world, UK, Spanish national and regional news plus weather, competitions, live interviews and much more. You can listen to the radio online too through the website.
