Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- On Saturday, October 15th through Sunday, October 16th, the Families Matter Most Foundation will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “Longest bumper car marathon”. The event will take place at the Georgia-Carolina State Fair in Augusta, Georgia.

In the spirit of National Homelessness Awareness Month, this event is being held to raise awareness for homeless children. According to Families Matter Most Foundation Chairperson, Sylvia Wayfer-Clark, more than 1.5 children in America are faced with homeless.

The group will begin their world record challenge at 12noon on Saturday, October 15th and Wayfer-Clark attempt to break the record as she continuously rides in a bumper car, along with other riders, for 26-hours, until Sunday, October 16th at 2pm. The current world record is 24-hours, held in Vienna, Austria, on September 2007. During the 26-hour marathon, the bumper car ride will remain open to the general public. When asked how she intends to accomplish this feat, Wayfer-Clark replied, “Coffee, licorice and bubble gum”!
