Oct. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- The Habit Burger Grill announced that it is opening its first San Diego location at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Mission Valley at 845 Camino De La Reina. First opening its doors in Santa Barbara, Calif. in 1969, the popular Irvine-based burger eatery now operates over 45 restaurants throughout California and Arizona.

“We’ve been craving a location in San Diego for a while now as it is a prime area for our expansion,” said Russ Bendel, President and CEO of Habit Burger Restaurants, LLC. “When this great spot in Mission Valley became available recently, we snapped it up and have others in the works including a location in Carmel Mountain Ranch.  We look forward to creating more burger habits throughout San Diego.”

Eager taste buds can get a sneak peak of The Habit’s tasty and affordable menu during pre-opening charity events: Rady Children’s Hospital on Sunday, October 16 from 12-2 p.m.; Duchenne San Diego on Sunday, October 16 from 5-7 p.m.; and Mission Valley YMCA on Monday, October 17 from 12-2 p.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds from each event will be donated to the organizations.

So, just what makes the Habit Burger Grill so habit-forming?

•   Grilled to Order Over an Open Flame: The Habit is best known for its made-to-order “Charburgers,” grilled over an open flame, and friendly, inviting service. The Habit uses only fresh, quality ingredients, and always lives up to its motto: “There’s No Substitute For Quality!”  Watch how The Habit grills and builds its burgers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hoqdlVwJB0.

•   Reasonable Prices: Everything served at The Habit is reasonably priced compared to casual dining or other “gourmet burger” establishments, with prices as low as $2.95 for an original Charburger. The Habit also serves fresh, char-grilled sandwiches, specialty salads tossed to order, onion rings, sweet potato fries and a variety of hand-blended shakes and malts.

•   Doing Its Part: The Habit has pledged to do its part in the communities in which it serves through charitable giving and eco-friendly practices.  The Habit donates volunteer time, financial resources and food to local charities.  New restaurants incorporate environmentally-friendly building features including renewable materials and paint that is non-toxic and low VOC.  And, the Albacore Tuna served on its sandwiches and salads is “hook and line” caught.

About The Habit Burger Grill
Over 40 years ago, The Habit opened in Santa Barbara, California. Soon after, 16-year old Brent Reichard got his first job flipping burgers there and a few years later he and his brother Bruce made the life-changing decision to buy it. Through hard work and dedication The Habit has grown a lot since then, but remains focused on one simple philosophy – always deliver high quality food and great service at reasonable prices.
