Oct. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- October 5, 2011 - JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY – PASS THE ROC apparel kicks off the Young Einstein Science and Engineering Program (YESEP), one of its education initiatives, with 25 Jersey City Boys and Girls Club students.  The children, in grades 4th-8th, will increase their knowledge in the areas of math, science, technology and engineering.  YESEP is designed to be a fun and educational program that: exposes children to careers in science and technology; change the negative view of science; teach children the value of teamwork; and offers college and high school mentors.  The two months, weekly program will teach children about robotics, mechanics, chemistry, and engineering.  YESEP is supported by volunteers from the National Society of Black Engineers (www.nsbe.org) and engineering students from local schools including, NJIT, Stevens and Seton Hall.  “We are extremely excited about the impact that YESEP will have on these young minds.  Science and technology is such a major part of our future and it’s important that this generation is equipped with as much knowledge as possible,” says Jarrod Greene, CEO/Founder of PASS THE ROC and YESEP.  The program is currently scheduled for every Friday throughout the remainder of the year.

The highly-anticipated YESEP kick-off is Friday, October 14th at 4:00pm at the Jersey City Boys and Girls Club located at 1 Canal Street Jersey City, NJ 07306.   On the first day of the program, the students will explore slime, using common household products.  The students will also hear from a chemical engineer and get an introduction to robotics.
