Would YOU buy an off plan project in Phuket?

I recently met with a developer who is about to launch a mid to high end development in a prime location with stunning sea views, he has been advised by many agents that it is very difficult to sell off plan developments at this moment in time.

So what chance does he have of selling, if it is too difficult to sell off plan developments?

I was asked the same question, my answer was “sure, if the development is good enough and in the right location and at the right price”.

In my opinion, I think buyers are very happy to buy off plan developments as the benefits can far outweigh the risk, Istana have just sold two villas over $6 million+, without having a show unit. Amanpuri sold 15 villas within 30 mins (so the rumors tell us) after buying the land and kata Rocks sold a large percentage off plan. I believe this is because the locations are right (Uninterrupted sea views, great design etc, etc……) and the chance to own a property on these prime pieces of land are too good to turn down. Think of the rewards!!!

The difference in todays market is that buyers are a little bit more patient/savvy/knowledgeable an not so impulsive, if you do not have all your pieces in the right order it is difficult to sell an off plan development.
