Oaks Christian Online School Student Performer Gets Lead in Little Shop of Horrors

Oct. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- October 10, 2011 – Westlake Village, CA – Oaks Christian Online School (OCO) junior, Veronica Dunne, has a lead role as Audrey in the Moorpark, CA, High Street Theater production of Little Shop of Horrors. Veronica, a professional actor/performer, has been in theater since the age of six, and thinks of this part as a dream role. “I love Alan Menken’s music, and it’s rare that you come across a part with so much heart and soul that can also be terribly funny,” Veronica says. Opening night was Friday, October 7th and the play will run through November 13th, three times a week, with shows at 8pm, Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays.  

Dunne, with her unique acting style and sensational voice, has had lead roles in more plays than she can easily count, including Cinderella directed by Neil Patrick Harris at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, CA.  Although Veronica loves the energy of musical theater, she’s finding time to renew her interests in film and television.  Veronica started high school at Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, CA as a freshman and has managed to juggle theater, dance and music classes as well as a full, college-preparatory high school education.  Still a full-time student at Oaks Christian, Veronica recently shifted enrollment from the on-campus school to the online school, because she wanted to work on perfecting her chosen craft with the flexibility of studying online.  “I can honestly say that Oaks Christian Online School lets me live my dream,” says Veronica.

While the main campus of Oaks Christian School has been open since 2000, Oaks Christian Online School (OCO) opened for full-time, online students in the fall of 2011.  It provides a rigorous and challenging college preparatory education for high school students all across the country in a Christian environment.   OCO continues to enroll part-time and full-time students throughout the school year and regularly hosts information sessions on its main campus – 31749 La Tienda Drive, Westlake Village, CA  91362, as well as virtual information sessions for prospective student families.
