Reynolds Cycling Renews Sponsorship With ProTour Team AG2R LA MONDIALE

Oct. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- West Jordan, UT – Reynolds Cycling, a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of high performance bicycle wheels, is pleased to announce its renewal of a two year contract with the French ProTour Team AG2R LA MONDIALE.

The announcement comes on the heels of a Reynolds Cycling victory in the third and most difficult stage of the inaugural Tour of Beijing. Reynolds Cycling’s Nicolas Roche, riding for AG2R-La Mondiale, captured his first WorldTour victory riding Reynolds’ Climbing Wheelset, the Thirty-Two, weighing a scant 1091 grams per pair.

Reynolds Cycling CEO, Dean Gestal, who recently committed to sponsor AG2R-La Mondiale in 2012 and 2013, congratulates Roche on his first WorldTour win, saying, “This victory shows the impressive potential of the team, and reinforces our belief in their competitiveness on the WorldTour.”

The newly inked agreement maintains Reynolds Cycling as the official wheel sponsor of AG2R-La Mondiale, and CEO Gestal views the sponsorship as a mutually beneficial partnership.

Per the agreement, Reynolds Cycling will supply the team with its high performance composite wheels including the innovative, RZR™ 46 Team and Element Disc wheels for the next two seasons.

In addition to its stage win at the Tour of Beijing, the team produced strong performances in several 2011 Grand Tours and Classic races. In this year’s Tour de France, which was plagued with braking issues and wheel problems, the team finished with all members and no crashes, placing 3rd overall in the team standings. A strong contributor to their success was Reynolds’ patented CTg Brake Track and Swirl Lip Generator technologies providing them an aerodynamic advantage and allowing them to run cooler and stop faster.
