Volunteers Needed To Help at Conejo Valley YMCA's 7th Annual "Turkey Day Dash"

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 10, 2011 - THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.--The Conejo Valley YMCA is hosting its seventh annual Turkey Day Dash on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 24, and needs volunteers to assist with the event that typically draws more than 1,600 runners and walkers. The 5k run/walk and 1k family fun run/walk will be at The Oaks Shopping Center (350 West Hillcrest Dr., Thousand Oaks).

   "Volunteers can sign up for specific time slot for various activities," says Meghan Lopez, Conejo Y's aquatics and healthy living manager. "This will be a fun opportunity for volunteers. We appreciate all their help. We would not be able to do it without them."

   Volunteers are needed as early as 7:00 a.m. for set up and check in/registration. Volunteers are also needed for course marshaling (to ensure runners and walkers stay on course), clean up, post race reception hosting and start/finish line monitoring. All volunteer shifts will be finished by 11:30 a.m. About 135 volunteers are needed.

   Proceeds from the Turkey Day Dash benefit Conejo Valley YMCA youth and senior programs.
