Linden Homes goes mobile

Award-winning developer Linden Homes has gone mobile in a bid to improve the availability of information for home buyers and is the first top 10 housebuilder to create a dedicated site in this way.

Oct. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- The development of a mobile website demonstrates Linden Homes’ commitment to harnessing developments in technology to provide the best possible service to its customers. It is expected to generate between 10 to 15 per cent of all website traffic for the company.

Although you could previously access Linden Homes’ website from your mobile phone, the specially designed mobile site has removed some of the “for information only” content to enable the user to get straight to the development information easily and quickly. The site is also tailored to whichever mobile device is being used to access it – adapting to fit the screen size of a Blackberry, iPhone or iPad, for example.

To add to the experience, Linden Homes Western, based in Bristol, is offering the first purchaser that registers through the mobile website, and then goes on to reserve, an extra £500 discount.

Earlier this year, search engine Google stated that around 15 per cent of all web traffic is now mobile.

Following this, Linden Homes undertook its own in-depth research to monitor visitors to its website, which revealed exponential growth in the number of visitors using mobile devices.

To cater to this growing group, Linden Homes has developed a functional, easy-to-use mobile website. It is specifically designed to access from smartphones and mobile tablets, and will provide home buyers out on the road with fast and easy access to their nearest developments, including pricing information, floor plans, contact details and directions.

Using the site, house hunters will be able to quickly find up to 10 near-by developments, which will then be saved automatically to aid further searches. There is also a very condensed, quick to fill in enquiry form so that the user can easily register their interest.

Nigel Palmer, Managing Director of Linden Homes Western, said: “The company is always looking for opportunities to further enhance its information offering to help home buyers make informed decisions when purchasing their new home or investment.

“Google research suggests smartphone take-up will reach 43 per cent of the UK population by the end of 2011, with 22 million people accessing the internet from a mobile device every month.

He continues: “This clearly demonstrates that people want to be able to access information wherever they are. While many housebuilders pay a monthly fee for a company to host a mobile version of their website, Linden Homes is delighted to become the first top 10 housebuilder to create a dedicated site in this way to be able to provide this access which will revolutionise the way in which buyers are able to search for new home information.”
