Michael Borger elected 2011-2012 Vice-President of FAMES, Hawaii Business Development Organization

Oct. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Michael Borger, owner of Big Rock Investments, a local Hawaii real estate investment company, was recently elected Vice President of FAMES, a non-profit Hawaii organization dedicated to business mentoring, education, leadership and overall business development for today's entrepreneurs and business owners in the local community.

FAMES, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and founded by Joni Redick-Yount, author of "Million Dollar Attitude", has become one of the most renowned business networking organizations in Hawaii. FAMES holds monthly events that, in addition to bringing together individuals from a diverse set of industries, feature speakers from local leaders at the forefront of their fields. The organization also participates in local charitable efforts and holds special day-long seminars specifically geared towards professional development.

On November 5, 2011, FAMES will also hold its annual fundraising gala at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The evening will feature popular group Society of Seven as well as international singing sensation, Hawaii's own Kristian Lei. As well as other local performers, there will also be a live auction for which Michael Borger will serve as the auctioneer for the second year in a row.

MIchael Borger has been an active member of FAMES over the past year, often serving as the emcee for monthly and special events, as well as providing guidance for the next stage of the digital marketing and online efforts. He is looking forward to serving as a VP for the foreseeable future.

When asked why he chose to align himself with FAMES, Michael replied "Well, there are many good business networking opportunities available in the Honolulu area. However, I just feel that FAMES is about more than networking. It's allowed me to break past barriers and develop into more complete professional.
