PRLog - Oct. 7, 2011 - NEWBURY PARK, Calif. -- NEWBURY PARK, CALIF.--The Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park will host a free Kids Mud Run, Sunday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dos Vientos Community Park (4801 Borchard Rd., Newbury Park). The event coincides with the Conejo Valley Halloween Mud Run at the park that is raising money for the Thousand Oaks Teen Center.

The YMCA Kids Mud Run is for children age 10 years and under. It includes a mini mud run obstacle course that features a small mud pit, a tunnel and Halloween surprises. "Kids will definitely get dirty, but will have a blast," says Tarrik Daou, Miller YMCA aquatics and healthy lifestyles director. Daou advises participants to bring a change of clothes and a towel.
The Conejo Valley Halloween 5k and 10k Mud Run starts at 8:00 a.m. and is for athletes 11 and older. The courses feature mud pits, slides, hay bales and other obstacles that require participants to clime and crawl in mud.
