Oct. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Combining the glamour of international movie stars alongside spectacular British talent the 7th Screen Nation Film & TV Awards is uniquely the only annual international celebration of achievement within urban world cinema and TV in the UK.  A cascade of achievements and diversity that enriches world and UK cinema and television, Screen Nation 2011 promises a star studded ceremony, top quality live comedy and music entertainment in the heart of London’s ‘new’ West End.

Charles Thompson MBE, CEO of the 7th Screen Nation Film & Television Awards would like to welcome and celebrate with all guests and formally announce that this years ceremony supports the work of adoption charity, The Adolescent and Children’s Trust (TACT) www.tactcare.org.uk in their efforts to encourage more black adopters for black children in care.

Presented and hosted by Brit TV presenting couple Angellica Bell and Michael Underwood this year’s Honorees includes the  legendary veteran, former top news broadcaster and BAFTA  Fellowship Award 2011 winner Sir Trevor McDonald OBE, charismatic star of The Wire African-America, British based screen actor Clarke Peters and fearless Taurus World Stunt Award winner Amanda Foster, best known as Halle Berrys stunt double in Die Another Day.

The impressive list of nominees attending on the night includes Daniel Kaluuya star of Johnny English Reborn, Golden Nymp Outstanding Actress nominee and Angel Coulby the star of fantasy drama Merlin. British Independent Film Award winner and the star of Small Island, Outcast and Five Days, Ashley Walters will be joined by Demons Never Die co-star and Young Shooting Star nominee Arnold Ocheng and former CBBC presenter Miss London, Holby Citys Jimmy Akingbola, Nonso Anozie of Stolen and Outcasts. Industry backed Achievement Awards recognises both audience favourites and emerging British film & TV talent. Nominees for this category include Adam Deacon actor, director and writer of Brit hit film comedy Anavahood, Clint Dyer for SUS, Shanika Warren-Markland the star of 4.3.2.1 and Sherrie Silver nominated for Africa United. Emerging Talent nominees include Arinze Kene from Eastenders and Hollyoaks, Abdul Salis for Casualty, Ashley ‘Bashy’ Thomas for Shank, Charné Jolly for Holby City, Nadine Marshall for Random, and Andi Osho for sit-com The Life of Riley.  

The first ever peer led organisation for black British film & TV the Screen Nation Foundation, will be formally launched in 2012.  Members of the Foundation are charged with nominating and deciding on the winners of Screen Nation Awards.
