By: Debi Lampert-Rudman “From A to Z we have you covered for arts workshops," said TPCA Program Director Donna Muchnicki Hurwitz,. "This session, we're excited to welcome artists Annelies van Dommelen and OZ Freedgood to our teaching staff at Tyler Park Center for the Arts." According to Muchnicki Hurwitz, OZ Freedgood brings his menagerie of animals to his first workshop: Sculptural Animals with OZ! and introduces students to principles of 3D sculptural design. Oz is a graduate of Parsons School of Design and also studied at Pratt and the New School. He taught Arts and Crafts at the Santa Ana Indian pueblo during 1996 and discovered his love of teaching paper mache art to students. Oz's 4:30-6:15pm workshop runs from November 2 through December 7 and is for Ages 10 to teen. Local artist Annelies van Dommelen, who studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and under the tutelage of specific artists, presents two workshops for Adults and teens 16 and older: Sculptural Painting, in which students create base molds with various techniques, then paint with acrylics or oils to create 3D pieces. Held Tuesdays from 6:30-9pm from November 1 through December 6 Artists Gathering, in which artists discuss their paintings/drawings and suggest ways to take them further in composition, meaning, material and techniques.
