Jackson’s Slurred Words Reveal True Source Of His Pain

Doctors Taught To Treat Symptoms Of Problem Not The Source

Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- A recording where Michael Jackson is slurring his speech was heard in court Wednesday during the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad  Murray.

“I love them (children) because I didn’t have a childhood. I had no childhood. I feel their pain,” Jackson told Murray six weeks before his death.

The Los Angeles  Times reported that the recording was discovered on Murray’s iPhone where Jackson slurred somewhat incoherently  about his upcoming  comeback concerts  and plans to build a hospital for children.  This recording  is being used by the prosecution to show that Murray knew what condition Jackson was in.

In an interview today licensed addiction specialist and bestselling author Cathryn Taylor stated, “This recording suggests that Jackson’s dependency on prescription drugs not only addressed his insomnia but also medicated the pain he experienced due to the loss of his childhood. Unfortunately,” Taylor continued, “Doctors are so often taught to treat the symptoms of a problem rather than the source.  In order for Michael Jackson to have found peace the physical addiction would have needed to be addressed first, but to truly respond to his pain, he would have needed professional help with grieving the loss of his childhood.”

Taylor’s book, LIFE BEYOND CONFUSION AND FEAR reveals how we are a society in mourning with few adult tools to grieve… Our daily life leaves us afraid and confused-triggering childhood wounds and adult doubts about our ability to cope. Many of us express this unresolved confusion, fear, grief and tension through compulsive and addictive behaviors. We may eat too much, drink, drug or smoke too much, love, shop, work, gamble or worry too much.

“Our stress,” Taylor states, “if not resolved, gets expressed through maladaptive methods of coping which ultimately reveal themselves in physical ailments or injuries, psychological unrest, spiritual isolation or addictive and compulsive behaviors.”

Taylor’s Six-Cycle Model offers a viable and creative way out.  She takes addiction beyond the ordinary realm of twelve step meetings and abstinence-inviting readers to view their addictive behaviors as possible gifts from their Soul.  Her Six-Cycle Model offers readers the methods needed to embrace what lies underneath their confusion and their fear as she guides them through a process which transforms abandonment to union; anger to empowerment; shame to compassion; loneliness to sacred solitude; betrayal to gratitude and fear to faith.`

Taylor is the author of five books including The Inner Child Workbook , What To Do With Your Past When It Just Won’t Go Away, which was published by Jeremy P. Tarcher, Inc. in 1991 and is now in its 38th printing.  The Inner Child Workbook was one of five books released in the 1980s which popularized the concept of the inner child. It is considered a classic in the inner child field and has positioned Taylor as one of the field’s leading experts. She has been conducting workshops, lectures and classes for the past 24 years, and has authored and recorded a series of lectures and you tube videos which cover topics on the different stages of recovery, issues of the children within and holistic healing.
