Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- netxtra, the specialists in membership organisations’ online solutions, with a client portfolio which includes The World Association of Girl Guide and Girl Scouts and The Recruitment and Employment Confederation are pleased to announce that they have been selected for the phased redevelopment of the new Cambridge Network website.

The Cambridge Network, which has a wide range of members – from individuals and small businesses, to ‘billion dollar’ companies (such as ARM, AVEVA, CSR and Abcam), to Cambridge University and Addenbrooke’s Hospital site - has been seeking feedback on what members need.  Whilst the Network is about bringing people together, improved online services to both members and the community were seen as key. At the top of the list, the recruitment of top quality people is a significant problem for members’ organisations and the first phase of the new website development has concentrated on this area.

netXtra has therefore worked with the Cambridge Network to launch the first phase of the new Cambridge Network website project, ‘The Recruitment Gateway’ with the aim of raising the region’s profile and bringing new people to Cambridge, rather than having local companies recruiting staff from each other. The new Recruitment Gateway online portal allows member organisations to post vacancies directly to the website or to have their vacancies transferred from their own website automatically. Jobseekers are able to sign up for job alerts, post their CV online and apply for vacancies via the Recruitment Gateway portal.

Claire Ruskin, Chief Executive of Cambridge Network said of the project “We are very pleased to have launched the first part of the new website, and are looking forward to seeing the whole new site launched in phases this autumn so that we can add the functionality our members would value.  We selected netXtra through a competitive process and have found them very good to work with.”

Future phases of the Cambridge Network website redevelopment will concentrate on improving a myriad of other services to members including; events, collaborative learning, searchable directories, forums, special interest groups and being a valuable ‘network of networks’ and channel for communications.
