Budding professionals across the hospitality, events, leisure and catering industries have the opportunity to launch their careers in style at the UK’s first Crowne Plaza Resort in Colchester, Essex.
The global hotel brand is scouting for top new talent from the local area to join its five-star team, and will be holding two recruitment days next week (Thursday 13 and Sunday 16 October). The open days will provide a behind the scenes glimpse at the luxury resort and the opportunity to find out more about the exciting positions on offer
Essex is fast gaining ground as a major UK tourist destination and thanks to a multi million pound makeover, the Crowne Plaza Resort Colchester – Five Lakes (http://www.cpcolchester.co.uk) is the perfect place for locals to hone their skills in the fast-paced hospitality and leisure industry.
Culinary wizards have the chance to join a team of leading chefs headed up by the esteemed James Parsons, previously chef to the Royal household. Meanwhile, sports and fitness fans can launch their careers on the resort’s immaculate 18-hole golf courses and in its luxury leisure centre. The team is also looking to recruit front of house, banqueting and conferencing staff to show guests a piece of true English hospitality.
Ben Danielsen, Five Lakes General Manager, joined the resort in July 2011 bringing with him more than ten years experience of high end hospitality management. Commenting on the recruitment drive, he said: “We need talented and motivated people who are proud of Essex and who can share their passion and knowledge of the area with our guests.
“We’re looking for full time, part time and casual workers in a variety of fields but what is most important is that the candidates are passionate and committed people who are always ready to go the extra mile. We can train the specific hospitality skills required but we’re looking for candidates with natural people skills and a belief in creating a great customer experience for every guest.

The Crowne Plaza Resort Colchester – Five Lakes is set in 320 acres of unspoiled Essex countryside, close to the village of Maldon.
