Royal Jordanian Armed Forces to Address Artillery Upgrades and Procurement Processes

Defence IQ has announced that Lieutenant Colonel Alzubaidi Zaid, Acquisition and Survey Regiment Commander, Royal Jordanian Armed Forces is presenting at the Future Artillery Jordan conference, taking place in Amman in November.

Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Defence IQ has announced that Lieutenant Colonel Alzubaidi Zaid, Acquisition and Survey Regiment Commander, Royal Jordanian Armed Forces is presenting at the Future Artillery Jordan conference, taking place 21st-23rd November at the Four Seasons Hotel in Amman.

Lt. Col Alzubaidi Zaid will discuss the Jordanian Army’s procurement process as the nation upgrades its artillery systems in a way not seen for decades. Jordan, which accounts for a substantial part of the Middle Eastern artillery market, is currently looking to work with precision munition, tracked system and C4I professionals to acquire a range of new equipment including:

•Smart Ammunition
•Target Acquisition Radar
•Multi Function Binoculars for Surveillance and Fire Control
•New 155 mm Tracked Howitzers (Not Upgraded)
•Upgraded 105 mm Howitzers
•Navigation Systems

In order to outline the most urgent procurement needs of the Armed Forces and to assess the proliferation of indirect and asymmetric threats, Lt. Col Alzubaidi Zaid will be accompanied by fellow international experts such as:

•Colonel Mohammad Al Momani, Commander of Jordanian Artillery School, Royal Jordanian Army
•Brigadier General Jonathan A. Maddux, Programme Executive Officer, PEO Ammunition, US Army
•Lieutenant Colonel Oliver Fort, Head of Doctrine and Prospective Studies, Field Artillery School, French Army
•Mark Stoop, Munitions and Guided Weapons Programme Manager, TNO, Netherlands
•Brigadier General Ediwan Prabowo, Commander Field Artillery, Indonesian Army
•Lieutenant Colonel Manfred Dietmar Felber, Plans & Concepts, Transformation Army Office, German Ministry of Defence
