Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Packt recently announced the publication of IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0 Administration Guide,   a highly practical, example-driven tutorial, aimed to help administrators successfully manage and tune their WebSphere 8.0 implementation. Written by Steve Robinson, the book throws light on the new WebSphere installer, topics like managed deployments, MQ Link, HPEL Logging, and more with a variety of real-world examples.

IBM Websphere refers to a brand of computer software products in the genre of enterprise software known as "application and integration middleware". These software products are used by end-users to create applications and integrate applications with other applications. IBM WebSphere has been available to the general market for over a decade.
With IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0 Administration Guide  in hand, readers will be equipped to provide an innovative, performance-based foundation to build, run, and manage JEE applications and SOA services. It will guide readers through the new installation process using IBM Installation Manager, understand managed deployment, and automated configuration saving hours of manual administrative effort. They will learn to assign different levels of administrative access to secure the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, and implement Java messaging and enabling messaging persistence using databases.
The book provides administrators with an apprehension of using the new derby JDBC drivers and managing additional application servers from a single administrative console. Users will also be able to increase server performance by enabling the new HPEL binary logging, and disabling WebSphere MQ when Messaging services are not required. The book also covers how to configure SSL for IBM HTTP Server and the Websphere Plug-in.
This book is written for administrators who want to get up and running with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.0.  Experience with WebSphere and Java would be an advantage, but is not essential.
