Buffalo , New York - The 2nd Annual Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival has announced its film selections and schedule. The festival will host a 30th anniversary screening of the slasher classic The Burning, which was filmed in North Tonawanda . Other non-competition, showcase features include Street Trash, The Definitive Document of the Dead, and Swirlee, all hosted by special guest Roy Frumkes; the stoner comedy Trippin’, which will be introduced by Alternative Cinema’s Paige Davis; and the world premiere of the zombie anthology Decayed, written and directed by Emil J. Novak, who co-founded Buffalo Screams with author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson (Slime City Massacre, “The Jake Helman Files”). In all, 48 films will screen at the five-day festival, which runs from Wednesday, Oct. 26th – Sunday, Oct. 30th at the Screening Room Cinema Cafe in Amherst, New York.
Features competing for awards include Absentia, which just won the top prize at Shriekfest; the cannibals vs. giant monster movie The Millenium Bug; the depraved psycho drama The Super; the science fiction themed The Black Box; and the post apocalyptic thriller The Collapsed; the motorcycle thriller Rage and Die Farbe, a German adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s story “The Color Out of Space.”
“We’re showing some truly stunning films with a great deal of diversity,” says Lamberson. “Independent cinema is where the best horror films can be found today, and we’re really proud of our program and the filmmakers who are represented;
