Oct. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- ADERANT, a comprehensive business management software provider for law and professional services firms of all sizes, today announced that its CompuLaw Collaborate 2.0 is now available. This updated web part component which integrates Vision Web Portal™ version 4 with Microsoft® Office SharePoint® 2007 and higher includes access to Vision Web Portal content, graphical calendar display options and a variety of filter options as parameters to the page containing the Event List Web Part.

This update allows Web Portal’s popular Event List feature to be incorporated into any SharePoint website, creating an Event List Web Part that will provide law firms with direct access to critical information on all events related to a specific client, matter, attorney, team or department. The CompuLaw Event List Web Part provides an easy and flexible way of including CompuLaw deadlines and critical dates on your SharePoint web pages, providing better case collaboration and organization.

“With Microsoft SharePoint increasingly becoming the de facto standard in law firm collaboration tools, the Collaborate 2.0 upgrade is being welcomed with open arms,” said Chris Giglio, chief executive officer for ADERANT, the company that acquired CompuLaw in August 2011. “Also, with this new portal content and access to Portal, there is more user interaction. Beyond just looking at information via SharePoint, now, users can now react to what you see.”

Mr. Giglio added: “We are pleased to now offer law firms this convenient, portal-based access point for attorney collaboration on all legal calendaring event list information. Many firms already using SharePoint understand how convenient it is for teams to collaborate and have the content they want and use most, right at their fingertips. With our Collaborate upgrade, users can rest assured that the popular SharePoint 2010 is supported, and when the firm docketing department makes an addition or change, firm attorneys will see these updates through SharePoint and be able to make decisions and collaborate in an instant.”

The CompuLaw Collaborate 2.0 upgrade contains several new client-driven features including:
•   Access to Vision Web Portal content: Users can view court rules and deadlines in Portal by selecting the “Portal Content” option from the event drop down list.  This launches the Portal and displays event details as well as granting permission-based user access to other Portal functionality.
•   Graphical calendar display: Users can view information in a graphical calendar format.  There are three calendar view buttons along the top of the display.  Users can click on these links to switch the view to a Day, Week or Month Format. The default view can be set in the Web Part properties and users can lock the view to prevent others from changing it.
•   Query String Parameter Support: Configure the Web Part to pass a variety of filter options as parameters to the page containing the Event List Web Part and it will use those settings to filter the list. This will allow users to create a generic web page whose Event List Web Part content depends upon the filter provided by the containing page URL
•   Column Ordering: Users can order the Event List on a column by clicking the column heading. This allows users to easily create one Web Part and then sort the results by any column. For example, by client name, by matter name, by date, etc.

CompuLaw Collaborate™ is a powerful web part component that integrates the CompuLaw Web Portal with Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server and incorporates Web Portal’s popular Event List and How was this date calculated? SM features into SharePoint 2010 Web sites.
