Landi Renzo Announces “Ideas on Wheels” International Competition to Promote Entrepreneurship

Oct. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- TORRANCE, Calif. – Landi Renzo, the world’s largest manufacturer of natural gas vehicle systems, today announced an international competition, “Ideas on Wheels,” in support of the next generation of entrepreneurs eager to develop sustainable mobility solutions.  Organized as part of Landi Renzo’s Corporate University, aspiring entrepreneurs are urged to apply and submit a proposal for a product, technological solution or service that makes current mobility more sustainable.

Ten projects will be selected from the applications and a representative from each project will travel to Landi Renzo headquarters in Italy in December 2011 to participate in a three-day intensive boot camp on the construction and implementation of a business plan, technological transfer and entrepreneurship. Project representatives will present their sustainable mobility idea to panel of industry experts and potential investors on the final day of the boot camp. The judging panel will provide feedback and professional mentorship to the attendees in support of their projects.

Landi Renzo Corporate University was designed to act as the hub and spoke of sustainable mobility. Landi Renzo’s goal for the Corporate University is to support the generation and capitalization of the knowledge of those working in and for the Group so that it may achieve its strategic objectives. Landi Renzo Corporate University also contributes to the creation and dissemination of a culture of innovative ideas capable of making future mobility increasingly sustainable among its stakeholders.

             Individuals or teams may apply and applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 32, a student at a higher-learning institute or university, recently awarded a degree or diploma by a higher-learning institute or university, are employed or otherwise. Individuals currently carrying out entrepreneurial activities are not eligible to apply. Proposals will be judged on innovation, technical feasibility, economic and financial sustainability, and capacity for attracting resources in the capital market.
