The National Steinbeck Center Announces Holiday Events For 2011
SALINAS, CA (October 1, 2011) The National Steinbeck Center located at One Main Street in Salinas announced its Holiday events for 2011 today!
Save the date for:
Tree for Peace Dedication on November 22, 1011- 5:30 PM
Tree for Peace: Mayor Dennis Donohue and representatives of the City of Salinas dedicate the City's official Christmas tree at the National Steinbeck Center . The event features performances by local student groups and concludes with a chance to meet Santa. The event is free to attend.
Santa Claus is coming to Oldtown
Santa Claus is coming to Oldtown! Visits with Santa Claus would launch on Black Friday, November 25th and run every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm – 4:00pm in the Rotunda until December 12th at the National Steinbeck Center. Children can share their holiday wishes with Santa and receive a candy cane. Prior to Santa’s arrival, he will walk down Main Street with jingle bells, spreading the holiday cheer!
Santa Paws Pet Walk December 17th - 12:30 PM
Celebrate the holiday with a pet walk along the 100‐300 blocks ending at the National Steinbeck Center. There will be pet pictures with Santa Claus (or Claws). Pets (and owners) are encouraged to wear holiday attire! The SPCA will be outside the museum with adoptable pets! Pet and people food donations will be accepted in collection bins at the National Steinbeck (weather permitting.)
