Oct. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- There are so many floor tile patterns that can be installed within the home and most of them are relatively easy to follow and install even for the novice tiller. There are also many tile materials and styles in which to choose from and floor tile sizes range from the very small mosaic tiles to the larger format tiles, there really is no limit to the design and styles on offer.

The brick pattern can be successfully installed on walls and floors with impressive design and it is relatively easy to install provided you follow the set pattern. The brick pattern, as its name suggests is the same layout as bricks installed to construct a wall. The brick pattern using floor tiles and wall tiles is the same but it will be installed flat and horizontal.  The brick pattern is straightforward to install but certain rules have to be followed, rather like a set pattern and if they are not consistent to the pattern, it will look slightly out of shape. The floor tiles need to be installed and lined up edge to edge correctly.

A common material to use for floor tile solutions are natural stone tiles, there are many variations in the different types of natural stone floor tiles that can be used within the home and they are have their own unique characteristics that will add both beauty and style to kitchen and bathroom floor areas.

Home owners should make the most of their floor tile design and maximise the floor tile design to their advantage. The general rule for smaller floor tile areas is to use smaller tiles which create the illusion of having a flowing design; smaller tiles will give a clear clean design and will make the room appear an open space.

The basket weave floor tile pattern is another popular design that works really well on kitchen floors, tiles are installed using rectangular blocks in square blocks alternating from lengthways to sideways and this style is another alternative to standard floor tile design.
The hexagon shape floor tile design is a style generally using ceramic tiles and porcelain tiles that are of a smaller size. The hexagonal floor tile pattern is a unique design that dates back to the Roman times and it is a really good style if you want to achieve a Victorian style and design.

The diamond floor tile pattern is also very popular and is a refreshing alternative to the common square tile pattern.  The diamond floor tile pattern uses certain sized tiles in order to achieve the correct floor tile style.

There are plenty of articles and information on the internet discussing all floor tile patterns and many of them are easy to follow and they give the home owners the chance to achieve a different and unique design that suits your tastes and personal preferences beautifully.

Always decide on the type of floor tile design you would like and then start selecting the correct floor tile materials, you can then go on to explore the different floor tile patterns available.
